Directing/Lead Artist Projects

I have worked as a Director and Lead Artist for over 8-years creating work that emphasises experimentation, discovery, and the power of striking imagery. A central part of my process is guiding and coaching performers to unlock their own creativity, ensuring that movement, imagery, and storytelling emerge collaboratively. My work is about crafting moments that stay with audiences long after they leave the space.

As Co-Artistic Director of GymJam Theatre (2009–2025), I led the development of playful and politically urgent work. Our flagship production Anthropocene (co-produced with Oxford Playhouse) was created during the pandemic and reimagined as an immersive, choose-your-own-adventure film inspired by Bandersnatch, the Choose Your Own Adventurenovels of my childhood, and Gecko’s Time of Your Life. The piece went on to win an OFFIE Award, was streamed globally, and featured as part of the COP26 Climate Summit.

Other directing work includes co-directing Frantic Assembly’s flagship Ignition programme and serving as Associate Director for the digital capture of Sally Abbott’s I Think We Are Alone. These projects reflect my ongoing interest in innovation, collaboration, and pushing the boundaries of how stories can be told.

Whether developing new writing, adapting existing work, or exploring cross-media forms, I aim to create bold, imaginative theatre that is rooted in play, truth, and the shared creativity of the room.
